A Snapshot of Your Day

After an alignment call with the Bid Manager and the Regional Sales Manager for defining the strategy of a future project opportunity, you will conduct a design review meeting with the proposal lead engineers to release the technical documentation of another bid project which has been developed in the past two months. Later in the afternoon you will have a call with the Customer of a third proposal project, which is shortly before contract signature, for finalizing the list of deviations. Finally, you will participate to the lessons learned workshop of an execution project, which has recently obtained the Provisional Acceptance Certificate from the Customer.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• As Project Engineering Manager you are at the heart of the technical team which is developing bids for power plant projects: you are directly coordinating the internal engineering partners (e.g. gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, electrical, I&C, process, mechanical, plant layout, piping, civil, etc.) and interfacing as well with external partners (customers, consultants, authorities, suppliers, etc.)
• You evaluate and comment the customer specifications and develop engineering concepts for power plant projects
• You lead the preparation of the cost calculation, initiate the necessary supplier inquiries and coordinate the preparation of the bid documents
• You lead the engineering team in identifying the project risks and in addressing them in the technical offer
• You negotiate the technical scope with the customer and their consultants
• You accompany the project execution in the start-up phase

What You Bring

• College degree within the field of mechanical engineering, process engineering or electrical engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related engineering fields from the EPC power generation market, preferably including site and commissioning experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in overall technical project management
• Customer focus: capability of changing perspectives and adapting strategies and actions to meet the needs of a dynamic environment
• Leadership and organizational capabilities to lead an international, globally located engineering team to achieve highest performance results
• Capable to cope with stress and high workload
• Flexibility to attend negotiation meetings with the Customers as per project needs
